Aquafibre 42 Mk1 Centre Cockpit – Liveaboard / Cruiser
This is a versatile and spacious Aquafibre 42 Mk1 centre-cockpit motor cruiser, perfectly set up as a comfortable liveaboard while remaining low and shallow enough for the Irish canal network, yet seaworthy and stable enough for cruising the lakes of the Shannon. It completed the green silver in 2013, proving its ability to travel the Irish canal network.
The vessel is constructed of grp, and in 2022, the sliding roof was taken off and refurbished. Over the past 4 years the vessel was taken back to the bare hull and refurbished.
All freshwater plumbing was renewed in 2024.
12v Electrics were renewed in 2024, with a new central fused switch panel for all onboard services fitted. Shorepower was installed at the same time and is routed through a central switch panel ideally located in the upper seating area/ center cockpit.

Accommodation:
This vessel consists of the 3-cabin layout, comprising of a Forward double cabin. Large forward separate single cabin which is currently being used as a home office and a large separate single cabin to starboard aft.
The upper and lower seating areas can convert into additional double beds, when required.
This layout offers 8 berths in total.

The vessel has 2 separate heads compartment, one forward opposite the spare cabin and one aft. Both have composting toilets. There is also a separate shower room, aft to starboard, currently used as storage..

Galley:
Full galley with recently installed 2-ring gas hob with oven & grill.
12V Vitrifrigo front-loading fridge/freezer, Brand new.
Generous storage, well suited for extended time onboard, or liveaboard life

Comfort & Systems:
As part of the refit, the vessel was insulated to the waterline
Heating is provided by 2 recently fitted Autoterm diesel heaters – warm and economical year-round heating. The system in the living area of the vessel has a modem, so can be controlled from a phone.
900 litres of fresh water storage is provided in two stainless steel tanks, with an additional recently fitted calorifier provides storage for approximate 300litres of hot water. Water is heated by the engine cooling system, or a newly fitted immersion heater. This supplies hot and cold water throughout the boat.

Deck & Helm:
Centre-cockpit layout with excellent visibility.
The roof above the upper saloon and steering position opens to create a large sheltered open-air seating area – perfect for summer cruising and socialising.

Propulsion:
Fitted with a single Tempest Commander (BMC 2.5) inboard diesel. This engine is a 4 cylinder 2.5 litre normally aspirated unit producing approx. 50hp @ 2800rpm and drives a PRM Newage hydraulic reversing gearbox with a reduction ratio of 2 : 1. The cutlass bearing was replaced in 2024, and the 3 bladed 18” x 14”, was refurbished in 2024.The engine was this year and the waterpump, impellor and temperature sensor were replaced. New batteries were fitted this year.

A Vetus sidepower 12v bow thruster is fitted to give additional maneuverability.
