Description

This specific piece dates roughly from the 1930s to the 1940s and represents a rare piece of County Waterford commercial history.Important Note: This is an EMPTY historical bottle sold strictly as a collector's item or decorative piece for home bars and pubs.Historic Significance & ProvenanceThe Merchant Bottler: Before 1968, the Jameson distillery did not bottle their own whiskey; they sold it by the cask to trusted regional spirit merchants. This bottle features a localized label showing it was custom-bottled by Thomas Power & Co., St. Brigid’s Well Brewery, Dungarvan. The Famous Heritage: Thomas Power was a renowned 19th/20th-century Waterford entrepreneur, brewer, and politician. This firm was famous for regional blending and famously created the "Velvet Cap" whiskey brand using Jameson spirit.Iconic Branding: Includes the iconic lower label featuring the traditional tagline: "Not a drop is sold till it's seven years old" alongside illustrations of the traditional Jameson barrelmen workers.Physical Details & Dating MarksProduction Era: 1930s – 1940s.Base Details: The base shows early Automatic Bottle Machine (ABM) glass textures, a faint suction seam, a stamped mold cavity number "6", and an embossed letter maker's mark at the bottom edge.Size: Standard old half-pint / pint-style curved pocket flask bottle.

Damage to bottom right of bottle as can be seen in final image.

Labels: Original paper labels are present on the front. They show heavy vintage wear, staining, and some tearing around the edges, consistent with a bottle that survived decades in a cellar or pub shelf (please study the photos carefully). The reverse side is blank glass showing old adhesive shadows.Perfect addition to any collection of Irish whiskey memorabilia.
