Vintage 1983 King 3B+ (Concert Plus) Tenor Trombone – .525 Bore – Eastlake Era (Huge Bundle).
Description:
Selling a highly desirable, rare King 3B+ (Concert Plus) Tenor Trombone, manufactured in Eastlake, Ohio around 1983–1984 (Serial Number: 946727).
Unlike a standard 3B, the 3B+ features a larger .525" medium-large bore paired with the classic 8" brass bell and the signature curved main bell brace. This configuration bridges the gap between commercial jazz horns and orchestral tenors, delivering a remarkably broad, dark, and robust sound while retaining King's legendary quick response.
This is a phenomenal "all-around" workhorse horn from a highly regarded production era.
What’s Included in the Bundle:
The Horn: 1983/1984 King 3B+ .525 Tenor Trombone (Brass bell).
Cases: Includes the original King hard case plus a spare Bach soft case (gig bag) for lightweight travel and easy transport.
Mouthpiece: Vintage Vincent Bach Corp. 12 mouthpiece (highly collectible, period-correct mouthpiece).
Mutes: Complete performance setup featuring 4 assorted mutes.
Accessories: Original King promotional/care leaflet (a fantastic piece of "case candy" for collectors) and a sturdy trombone floor stand.
Condition:
Slide: The hand slide is in perfect condition. The action is completely smooth, fast, and silent with zero dragging or catching. The inner chrome stockings are clean with no pitting or wear.
Cosmetics: The lacquer shows normal wear, light surface scratches, or minor blemishes consistent with a well-loved, 40-year-old vintage horn, but it is structurally excellent with no major dents or damage affecting playability.
