Selling my much loved 2006 Volvo S60 2.0 automatic, just under 200k km on the clock. Very comfortable, solid old low-tech Volvo with plenty of life left but I want to be fully upfront that there are a couple of issues to be sorted.
Good points:
NCT until October.
Taxed until July.
Serviced recently, including transmission fluid change and new timing belt (I have most of the service history).
Cream leather interior
Heated front seats - working (gorgeous on a cold day).
AC and heating all working.
6 CD changer and radio both working (really good sound!)
2 keys
Body is rock solid, no accidents
Fairly clean overall (non smoker, no animals, no kids)
Typical Volvo safety and solid build quality
Known issues:
Automatic transmission can feel heavy once warmed up and will occasionally slip/lurch - more noticeable in stop-start traffic (and not always), less so on motorway runs.
Intermittent “Antiskid Service Needed” warning when starting the engine and pulling away to the left. This warning clears after stopping, restarting and driving on.
Note that she drives fine with the warning showing - it’s been happening the odd time ever since I got the car more than 15 years ago (a Volvo steering angle thing, not fatal).
With that, power steering is a little weak but I manage fine.
Other - some minor scuffs and general age-related wear and tear - all cosmetic.
This car is nippy AF and loves a sneaky let-out on the motorway, easily overtaking younger rivals. I had planned to keep this car and restore her to full glory as a project someday, but I don’t have the space to store and work under cover. It makes more sense at this time to let her go, but I’m sad about it.
This would really suit a Volvo enthusiast, someone handy with cars or someone looking for a comfortable cheap car with NCT
Higher tax bracket (€710 per year), so worth knowing before buying.
Sold as seen. Price reflects condition and known faults.
Open to offers also. I’ve a 141 BMW X3 (perfectly fine) that I’m open to swapping for a Volvo XC60 (or XC90) and I’d throw the S60 in as well.
No swaps
