Id a similar issue but I had the nut adapter, the nut was that tight the adapter kept slipping off ...
Same as yours - deep set: reverse threaded locking wheel bolt remover couldn't grip it ....
The solution was to tap on a bitta tube steel over the locking bolt head - reacher inside that with the flux core welder, let that cool n then welded an old half inch socket to that - came off like butter then with the breaker bar....
