Your Geneve price is not a fair comparison as purchase tax is much lower on the Canary Islands. Were that shipped to Ireland tax and import fees would be applied.

Further info:

When bringing a watch from the Canary Islands (a special EU VAT territory) to Ireland, you generally pay Irish VAT (around 23%) if the watch value is high, but you get a €430 duty-free allowance for goods from non-EU areas, meaning you pay VAT on the value above €430. If buying online and shipped, the seller should charge Irish VAT at purchase; if it's a gift or you bring it yourself, it's considered a non-EU import, so VAT applies above the allowance, reports Revenue.ie and Ireland.com.
