The box consists of 11 CDs and seems to cover all the string quartets PLUS the 6 String Quintets and the beautiful String Trio. There are a mixture of players and although perhaps the big hitters of the chamber group scene their playing is absolutely top notch. The recording quality is excellent with each instrument beautifully recorded, clearly and well balanced. The first two CDs covering the 12 early quarters are played by the Sonare Quartet followed by the Orlando Quartet picking up the remainder over 5 CDs rounding off with the String Quintets played by what appears a very accomplished group (The Orlando Quartet) from the Netherlands. There is a very interesting short work KV80 which is a delight. The Trio on the final Cd is played by three string players from Belgium.
