Chinese Shiwan Stoneware Ginger Jar

Description

For sale is an authentic antique Chinese Shiwan ware stoneware ginger jar. This piece features a striking multi-sided hexagonal form decorated with molded floral relief panels under a rich, multi-toned turquoise and green lead glaze.
The underside shows a characteristic unglazed, recessed sandy buff stoneware foot rim. There is a faint, worn-down impressed Chinese character workshop mark/seal stamp near the center of the base.
Condition: In good antique condition with wear consistent with age and utilitarian use. Features beautiful organic glaze crazing, minor firing imperfections, and small rough spots typical of historic folk pottery production. No major structural cracks or large chips. Please review all photos carefully as they form part of the description.
