Large antique Kinkozan signed hand-painted Satsuma vases
Description
A matching pair of large hand-painted cobalt-blue Japanese Satsuma vases by the renowned Kinkozan family factory.
They measure 32cm high and feature a samurai with a bladed weapon on one side and
a pair of elaborately dressed geishas on the other.
Both sides are liberally decorated with gold paint and feature the crackle crazing that is a distinctive feature of Satsuma ware.
The vases date from the 1920s or 1930s and are stamped with the Japanese characters for Kinkozan tsukuru (see attached screenshot from gotheborg.com).
In very good condition - no chips or cracks but some wear to the gilt.
