Lovely 1950's Carrigware Pottery Small Cauldron/Crock Pot in a Fabulous Mottled Pale Blue, Grey and Pale Brown Glaze

I’m reducing my collection of Carrigline Pottery and Carrigware Pottery in advance of putting all of our possessions back into storage.

For sale here is a Lovely 1950’s Carrigware Pottery Small Cauldron/Crock Pot in a Fabulous Mottled Pale Blue, Grey and Pale Brown Glaze.

This fabulous little tourist item is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or pattern loss. Underneath it is marked with the old Carrig Ware backstamp and Made in The Republic of Ireland, as photographed. This dates it to post 1949 and most likely early 1950’s.

Carrigaline Pottery (Carrigdhoun Pottery, Carrig Ware) was established in Carrigaline in 1928 and operated successfully for many years, producing a wide range of decorative and functional ware. It was founded by Hodder Walworth Blacker Roberts (1878-1952), of Mount Rivers, Carrigaline. Its products bear the marks Carrigaline Pottery or Carrig Ware. For much of middle of the 20th century the pottery was the main source of employment in Carrigaline. It made its name in part by producing memorabilia for the 1932 Eucharistic Congress and subsequent commemorative and souvenir items. In the 1970s the company suffered from financial difficulties going first into receivership, and then closing for the first time in 1979. It went through a few different owners and incarnations until it eventually closed in 2002.

Priced to sell.
I will also have the very large vase in the background for sale shortly. I also have some more Carrigaline Tourist Ware items available as a collection. I will also be downsizing my Carrigaline utilityware shortly so keep an eye out on upcoming ads!
