Description
Antique Chelsea porcelain figurines - small girl and boy depicted as vegetable sellers.
Scrolling around bases “potatoes full weight” and “turnips & carrots”.
From the Gold Anchor period (dating from 1756 to 1769)
Each figurine measures 10cm in height
The influence of Sevres was very strong and French taste was in the ascendancy. The gold anchor period saw rich coloured grounds, lavish gilding and the nervous energy of the Rococo style.
These delightful figurines are an original pair and are in excellent condition despite their age. One tiny chip to the brim of the boy’s hat. No repairs.
Collection best but may meet buyer in south Dublin
