RARE FIND Pair of matching Victorian teapot and water jug.price for both .

Description

It’s rare to find a matching set like this . A Victorian water pitcher and matching teapot wrapped in a glossy black glaze and trimmed with gold work. This pottery is generally classified as"Jackfield," however,it’s also called Jet Ware,, or blackware . The water jug measures circa
6-1/4" high and circa 7" long, spout to handle and Coro 4 inches wide . This item is oval in shape, with a pewter or steel swivel lid topped off with a white finial. This could also be used as a large milk pitcher. I don’t know who the maker is but Underside of steel lid is marked with the name Martin Hanley, Prov, No.23438/99, while the underside of the pitcher and the teapot is marked with a number 629 possibly the pattern number. The steel lid needs to be polished. The matching teapot is in very good condition for age with no chips or repairs . The teapot measures circa 10 inches long and 5.5 inches tall and 5.5 inches wide. There is a small bit of wear to the gilding in places which is to be expected for the age check photos . Selling as a set.
