Antique platter . The backstamp features a figure sitting under an umbrella, a registered trademark first used by the company Powell & Bishop in 1876.The words "ORIENTAL IVORY" are visible above the umbrella, indicating the trade name for this specific line ot ware.
Powell, Bishop & Stonier operated under this specific name between 1878 and 1891 in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England. •
Items with this mark are considered antique English ironstone. This platter measures 20 inch long by 16 inches wide . This has some wear so check photos there is one chip to the back of the platter and a couple of small ones . However it’s a beautiful usable piece and lovely colours .
