For sale is a magnificent and large Japanese Imari porcelain charger, dating from the Meiji period (1868–1912). Measuring a substantial 40cm (16 inches) in diameter, this piece features a vibrant, hand-painted design in the traditional palette of cobalt blue, iron-red, and hints of gold.
Key Features:
• Central Motif: A beautifully detailed flower basket (hanakago) under a weeping willow tree.
• Border Design: Intricate alternating panels of floral sprays and geometric patterns.
• Edge: Elegant scalloped (lobed) rim.
