A beautiful, completely authentic 19th-century Victorian High-Back Broad-Arm Windsor chair, perfect as a timeless statement piece for a country home, hallway, or living room.

This chair is a classic example of traditional vernacular country furniture, crafted from a highly deliberate combination of native woods. It features a deeply contoured, beautifully figured solid Elm saddle seat and a steam-bent Ash hoop back, spindles, and legs.

Key Features & Design Elements:

Broad-Arm Styling: Features distinctive, wide-sweeping curved armrests supported by robust baluster-turned uprights.

Through-Spindle Joinery: The back spindles pass entirely through the middle arm rail and anchor securely into the thick seat for immense structural durability.

Decorative Back: An elegant hoop frame encasing a classic pierced two-tier decorative central splat.

Sturdy Base: Supported by ring-and-vase turned splayed legs joined by a traditional H-pattern wooden stretcher.

Condition:
Excellent structural condition for its age. The frame is rock-solid with no loose joints, modern metal brackets, or structural breaks. It retains a rich, warm golden-amber patina built up over a century of household use. The right armrest displays beautiful, honest surface wear where the dark top wax has naturally mellowed over generations—a highly sought-after mark of genuine antiquity.
