Mid-Century Octagonal Coffee Table with Glass Top – 1950s

Vintage mid century coffee table with a glass centre. This piece has been in our family for generations and dates from around the 1950s–60s.

Please note this is soooo old and not perfect. It does have a beautiful octagonal shape with curved legs and a circular inset glass top which is currently stored separately to keep it safe. It can come off.

The table is structurally sound but shows its old age and appropriate wear including marks, scuffs and some fading to the finish. It would come up beautifully with a light sand down and refinish if someone wanted to restore it, but it still has plenty of character as it is also. The legs are fine after 70 years the legs are not perfect on the floor it’s one of those where if you stick a tissue piece under one leg it will be fine (maybe it’s just me).

Can be even upcycled. Repainted. Restored - not for the faith hearted, someone will need to have time to restore this piece back to its original beauty. Due to many, many MANY commitments I wanted to restore it myself but I have not got the energy really. I feel with the right hands it will be magical.

Extremely retro & perfect for a vintage, antique lover. It will literally go in any room of your choice.

And it’s not practical for our home with a rescue kitten & retriever bouncing around However.. A lovely authentic mid-century piece for anyone who likes vintage furniture. I’ve taken as many photos as possible. I’ve polished it a little too. However I’ve tried to sand it down and immediately stopped because I’ve no idea what I’m doing.

Please do not buy with the idea this is brand new and perfect because it’s simply not.

Tabletop diameter: approx. 83cm
