The first edition, classic design of the well-know Mexican libertad minted between 1982 and 1995 features winged Victory (The Angel of Independence) holding laurel wreath above her head and broken chain in the other hand as a symbol of Mexican independence. Iconic volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl (La Mujer Dormida) are in the background. In comparison to the slender angel figure on the new design, this older design is retrospectively nicknamed "Gordita", the plump one. The obverse side bears Mexican coat of arms.
2 coin available, years 1992 and 1995. Both coins have age related wear, scratches and tarnish, as seen in pictures. They come in capsules, also with minor scratches.
