2008 Gold And Silver Two-Coin Proof Set. Celebrating the Antarctic Explorers Ernest Shackleton and Tom Crean. Comprises €100 Gold Proof Coin (15.5gr or HALF TROY OUNCE) and a €5 Silver Proof Coin (8.52gr).

The issue limited to 1,000 sets features the irish born Antarctic explorers Ernest Shackleton and Tom Crean. Portraits of both men appear on both coins with the national emblem, the Harp on reverse.
