Roman Silver Antoninianus

This coin is an authentic Roman silver antoninianus (double denarius) of Emperor Gordian III, minted in Rome circa 241–243 AD.
​Obverse: Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gordian III facing right. Legend reads IMP GORDIANVS PIVS FEL AVG.

​Reverse: Laetitia, goddess of joy and gladness, draped and standing left, holding a wreath in her outstretched right hand and resting her left on an anchor set on the ground. Legend reads LAETITIA AVG N (Laetitia Augusti Nostri — "The Joy of our Emperor").

​Condition / Grade: Very Fine (VF). The portrait maintains sharp profile lines, clear hair curls, and crisp radiate crown points. The reverse exhibits typical light central softness on the drapery of Laetitia and some striking flow lines, but the complete figure, wreath, and anchor are well-preserved.
