@Sparkle615: The "Part E" bit is for safety. The bed of the co-sleeper attaches to the side bars using a clamping force. The pieces from part E sit underneath the clamps of the bed as supports to prevent the bed part from sliding down the bars.

Everything would assemble without the "Part E" kit but given the nature of what this is for, I would think having it would be best.
