Up for your consideration is a display box of a meteorite called NWA 869.The NWA is short for Northwest Africa as the meteorite was found in the Northern Sahara desert about 1999/2000.By slicing the meteorite open we are able to look inside it to view the extraterrestrial bounty that lies within.

4.5 billion years old, the parent body from which this meteorite was formed was created near the start of the solar system and that makes this meteorite more than twice as old as the oldest rocks on Earth

Only meteorites contain chondrules which are easily visible in these specimens and also give some of them their name "chondrites".Also present is plenty of metal flecking from the Iron/Nickel content which makes this meteorite attracted to a magnet.
There are 2 complete meteorites and one small slice for better viewing of the internal characteristics.
The meteorites weigh a total of 6.6 grams and the box measures 83 x 60 x 25 mm.The box can be opened and the meteorites removed for closer inspection.Also included is a metal label identifying the specimens and their classification. Also comes with my C.O.A/ I.D. card
