Description

For sale is a genuine vintage UFIP 22" Ping Ride, weighing 3,425g, made in Pistoia, Italy.
This is a particularly nice example of the old Italian UFIP craftsmanship, with the characteristic hand-worked construction, fine concentric lathing and substantial weight that gives these cymbals their distinctive voice.
The sound is focused and articulate, with a clear, strong ping, controlled sustain and a warm underlying bronze tone. It has plenty of definition without sounding overly modern or sterile, making it equally interesting as a working ride or as a piece of vintage cymbal history.
The top and underside retain the distinctive vintage UFIP stamp.
The original UFIP markings are also still visible on the cymbal.
I've cleaned it carefully to bring out the natural bronze and make the lathing and markings much easier to appreciate, while retaining the character of the original cymbal. It has not been aggressively polished or buffed to a modern mirror finish.

Distinctive old UFIP markings and hand-crafted construction
Excellent example for a player, collector or vintage cymbal enthusiast
These older UFIPs have a character of their own and are quite different from the more readily available modern cymbals. The combination of the 22" size, 3.4kg weight, vintage UFIP construction and unmistakable Italian character makes this a very interesting cymbal.
