Mid Century Set of 8 x Teak and Tan Leather Dining Chairs Model 82 by Niels Otto Moller, 1960s

An exceptional set of eight Niels Otto Møller Model 82 dining chairs, designed in 1962 and often referred to as ‘The Embassy’ chairs — a name that reflects their refined, almost architectural presence. Crafted in solid teak, the Model 82 is celebrated for its sculptural frame and beautifully balanced proportions. The gently curved backrest flows seamlessly into subtly tapered rear legs, creating that unmistakable floating lightness that defines Møller’s work. The joinery is precise and elegant, showcasing the craftsmanship of J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik, one of Denmark’s most respected cabinetmakers of the 20th century.

We have professionally reupholstered this set in genuine tan leather, chosen specifically to complement the warmth of the teak. The leather adds depth, texture and a soft contemporary contrast while remaining true to the mid-century aesthetic. The result is a set that feels both authentic and elevated — ready for daily use but with unmistakable design pedigree.

These chairs pair beautifully with oval dining tables and, as shown in our photographs, sit particularly well with classic mid-century forms.

Restoration Details
Each chair has been fully restored in-house. The teak frames have been carefully stripped and refinished, enhancing the natural grain and returning the timber to its rich, even tone. All joints have been checked and strengthened where necessary to ensure long-term structural integrity. The seats have been newly upholstered in high-quality genuine tan leather.

Condition
Excellent restored vintage condition. Structurally solid, with smooth refinished frames and newly upholstered seats. They present beautifully and are ready for everyday use.
