Is this dive computer still available? Is it in full working order? When was battery last changed?
Thanks

@hickien: Hi, yes still available. I disassembled the strap in order to check the new battery I bought in 2021. The battery was only used to check that everything functions as described. It is in perfect working order. The battery is a Panasonic CR2450 and cost €4 from Harvey Norman in 2021. It has a shelf life of 10+ years. Once installed the battery has a installed life of about 3 years unless you remove when not in use.

Thanks for that. Just to check how old the computer is and has it had continued/much use? Just trying to figure out how long it will last. Thanks

@hickien: It was used from July 2001 until May 2004. I washed it in fresh water after every dive, and stored it dry at the end of every dive day. It's been in dry storage since May 2004 as I stopped diving. I was keeping it for free-diving, but I found that I never remembered or needed it. I had surfer's ear surgery last year, so my free-diving days are over. I did 76 dives over 43 hours during those three years of use. It's a bulletproof Suunto and if taken care of should last many more years. In the manual it says it should be serviced after about 200 dives by an authorised service centre. Outside of the battery and functionality the service centre would check and replace any o-rings (battery, buttons) that are subpar. Scubadive West, Renvyle, Co. Galway or Cork Dive Centre are both authorised Suunto service centres. My advice is to get it serviced immediately even though in theory you should be okay for another 120+ dives. Make sure the service centre know that it is the original Vyper, not the Vyper Nova or the Vyper Air. That being said, the only user accessible o-ring is the battery o-ring which appears to be in perfcet condition. Hope that helps.

No worries. Thanks - I’ll leave it. Too old.
