Vintage Readers Digest Great World Atlas 1969 inc copy of 1587 Mercator Map

Complete 1969 second edition copy of the iconic Reader's Digest Great World Atlas. This is a fantastic, heavy collector's piece packed with mid-century physical, political, and celestial maps.
Crucially, this copy still includes its original loose map insert: a stunning, full-color large fold-out reproduction of Rumold Mercator’s famous 1587 double-hemisphere world map (Orbis Terrae Compendiosa Descriptio). This insert is usually missing from most copies today and looks incredible if framed as vintage wall art.

Condition: The binding is loose in a few places. Due to the substantial weight of this large book, it needs to be handled with care, though all pages are still currently attached. Ideal for someone who wants it for display, reference, or a restoration project. Internal Pages: Otherwise clean and in very good condition.
Loose Map Insert is in Very good condition with minor natural creasing from storage along the center folds and edges.
