DESCRIPTION
NOTE: Please send me a non-binding PM offer if you have any queries, prior to purchase. Lo-ball offers will be politely ignored. Previous purchasers of any of my watches are always welcome. :-)
A classic 1960's Omega Ladymatic cocktail dress watch. A timeless classic in excellent overall condition, including the original generic bracelet and chain. Difficult to find in such good condition with the bracelet. See pictures for reference.
WATCH HAS BEEN FULLY SERVICED IN JANUARY 2026.
Condition: The watch is in excellent well-looked-after condition and was awarded to the original owner by William Dawson & Sons, a leading UK stationer back in the day, who engraved their name on the back.
While some folks eschew engravings on watch casebacks, as a long time collector I like them, in that they give a glimpse into the watch's history. I can imagine how thrilled the lady must have been to receive this watch from her employer nearly 49 years ago. Back then Omega watches were on a par with Rolex, and higher quality than many other leading brands of the day like Longines, Breitling and Heuer. With a 20 micron gold-plated case and the legendary copper-coated automatic movement, this watch was from the 'golden-age' of horology. The faceted crystal just sparkles when it catches the light and commands attention.
NO BOX & PAPERS
Comments: This watch would be firmly in the dress-watch 'special occasions'/cocktail party category, as it has a timeless elegance, at a fraction of the price of a modern Ladymatic. It is a watch to be passed down to future generation to admire, or to mark a special event or milestone.
