VINTAGE 1980s designer Emanuel Ungaro floral wool blend wiggle dress Made in Italy XS S 8

Ungaro's trademark bright florals and trademark draping of fabric to flatter the female body are perfectly embodied in this dress from his "Solo Donna Paris" label. Five statement gold buttons extend from the neckline to the waist to create a flattering curved bodyline. The dress closes with a side zip closure and there are zips on each sleeve. The fabric is stylistically draped to one side, so flattering when worn.

Emanuel Ungaro (1933–2019) was a French fashion designer who founded the fashion house called the House of Emanuel Ungaro in 1965. Prior to this he had designed for Balenciaga and Courrèges in Paris.

The abstract floral design in shades of pink, red, green, purple, blue and yellow are striking on a black background.

Made in Italy. Material is a soft wool blend made up of 90% wool, 10% polyamide. The dress is fully lined.

To fit a modern size small, or UK 8-10. Marked as a vintage Italian size 40.

In overall excellent vintage condition. There were about 5 small holes throughout, that I did not notice when I purchased it originally. I had the dress dry cleaned and the holes professionally repaired by a seamstress, they are not visible when worn and do not detract from this magnificent dress! See pictures for reference.
