Vintage Hayman Vibrasonic 3-Piece Drum Kit c.1970s – Black – 22 / 12 / 16 – Made in England

Original vintage British Hayman Vibrasonic three-piece shell pack, dating from the early 1970s.

Matching black configuration comprising:

22" bass drum
12" rack tom
16" floor tom

These are original-period Hayman Vibrasonic drums, not the later 1980s Hayman revival.

The drums retain their distinctive gold Hayman Vibrasonic Drums – London, England badges, classic Hayman round lugs and much of their period hardware. The bass drum retains its Hayman tom mounting block (but without the tom arms to mount in unfortunately) and distinctive original-style spur assemblies, while the floor tom has its three legs and brackets.However, the tightening screws on of the the legs has lost its threads.

All three drums have the characteristic white Vibrasonic-treated shell interiors associated with Hayman's original British drums.

This is a genuine vintage player's kit and has been used extensively rather than stored as a collector's piece. There are scratches and marks to the black finish, age-related pitting/oxidation to the chrome and hardware, stickers/adhesive residue and other cosmetic wear. The bass drum has a significant area of finish damage/loss, clearly shown in the photographs. The white Vibrasonic interior coating also shows age and wear.

The drumheads are later replacements.

I have deliberately not restored, refinished or aggressively polished the drums, preferring to leave them in their existing vintage condition for the next owner.

A particularly interesting set for a Hayman collector, someone looking to complete a vintage Hayman setup, or a player wanting an original British Vibrasonic kit without paying a premium for museum-condition drums.
