Carly Hunter (Kim Huffman) has just started her own catering business, and agrees to cook for a friend who wants to impress the new man in her life, television star Chester Winnifield (Corbin Bernsen). From the kitchen Carly witnesses him murdering her friend, and rushes straight to the police - but she has no proof, while the press is on the celebrity's side. In fear for her life, Carly is put under the protection of handsome police detective Jack Brannigan (Alex Carter), and a tentative romance begins...
