Classic drama directed by John Ford and starring Victor McLaglen, Preston Foster and Heather Angel. During the Irish Civil War of 1922, the brutish Gypo Nolan (McLaglen) is desperate for money. In love with Katie Madden (Margot Grahame), Gypo wishes to emigrate to America, but needs ten pounds to do so. He decides to inform on rebel Frankie McPhillip (Wallace Ford) in order to obtain the twenty pounds reward and secure his and Katie's future happiness, but finds himself troubled by his conscience.
