1989 Epiphone Sheraton II MIK | David Kitt Owned/Modified | Used on Debut Album
Price: €1,100 ONO
For sale is a very special 1989 Epiphone Sheraton II, Made in Korea, in Natural finish, with an unusual piece of Irish music history.
Serial number: 9090629
The serial number dates the guitar to approximately September 1989, from the early Korean production period.
This guitar was personally modified by Irish musician David Kitt and used during the recording of his debut album, Small Moments.
Kitt personally modified the guitar, including changing the machine heads and pickups, making this a genuinely individual instrument rather than a standard Sheraton II.
Small Moments was released in 2000 and was David Kitt's debut record.
The guitar is not factory-original and has been set up as a working musician's instrument.
It has USA Sperzel machine heads, replacing the original Epiphone tuners.
It also has replacement humbucker pickups, replacing the original Epiphone humbuckers.
The exact make and model of the replacement pickups is unknown, so I would rather not guess.
The guitar retains the classic Sheraton II semi-hollow design, with a double-cutaway body, set neck, rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, two humbuckers, two volume controls, two tone controls and a three-way pickup selector.

There is genuine age-related wear, tarnishing, scratches and marks across the finish and hardware, all of which can be seen clearly in the photos.
The modifications are part of the guitar's history and were carried out by David Kitt.
A distinctive early Korean Sheraton II with plenty of character and an unusual connection to Irish music history.
