Found an Epiphone at Thomann... But Gibson will be really hard for the process I've noticed.

Looks really good and you can spend the rest of your budget on other gears.

But for the budget you've put, during lockdown it could be possible, but now prices have sky rocketed again, no more unemployed musicians having to pay their rents. Save a bit more and try something around 2k. Negotiate the price, people are not stores, they will go most of the time with what they get.

@phackwer . Being left handed is the biggest burden .your an absolute legend for going out of your way to do this,I’m just going to hold out and see if something pops up on here,eBay or reverb in the meanwhile still saving. Thanks for time man really appreciate it .

Hey! Fellow leftie here. For your budget, which I totally get, I think you have a few options for Gibsons…

You can get a new Gibson LP Junior on Thomann (€1444). I’ve never tried one but it’s a single pickup P90 LP which looks pretty good. Obviously, the lack of bridge pickup might affect your decision there. Thomann do a free return policy.

Next would be the LP Studio. You can still get these new for €1644 (Gear4music) but check Ebay for other options. Colours are limited but they do a black (classic) and a wine red which I think looks awesome. Beware of import duties if you’re not buying from the EU.

Gibson also brought out a Les Paul Tribute range which is similar to the Studio but comes with a lighter finish designed to wear/age over time. You see these on Ebay too at a similar price to Studios. The range is discontinued, I believe.

If you can stretch budget slightly, you can get a new Gibson SG Standard for €1699 on Thomann and get your classic Angus buzz on.
