Les Paul Custom, Black Beauty, Japan

I have ARIA PRO 2 Les Paul Custom for sale.

Guitar is most likely from 1976-1978 and was made in Japan (no serial number at the back of headstock).

Weight 4.39 kg.

Since it has many upgrades is hard to say exactly which model it is (could be LPC-500 or LPC-800).

Recent service / set up was done by Menapia Guitars (bone nut and new bridge fitted and frets leveled/polished).

Upgrades:
- Gotoh Locking Tuners
- Gotoh Bridge and Tail Piece
- Gibson Knobs
- bone nut
- Seymour Duncan SH4 Jeff Beck - bridge
- Seymour Duncan SN-2 Jazz - neck

Guitar is 46+ years old and it's in very good shape for it's age. Couple small nicks at the front of a body and buckle rush at the back. Binding in cutaway has a little gap (hardly noticeable and not affecting playability).

Hard Case included.

I'm open for reasonable offers. Cheers!

The Aria Pro II LC-500 is a Japanese-made Les Paul Custom replica produced by Matsumoku in the late 1970s. It features a solid mahogany or maple body with a maple cap, a mahogany or maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, and typically 2x Aria AL-7 humbucker pickups, known for a vintage "lawsuit era" sound.

Key Specifications (Approx. 1970s Models):
Body Material: Often Mahogany back with Maple cap, some variants indicate solid Mahogany. Sometimes "pancake" construction.
Neck Material: Mahogany or Maple, often with a slim 60s shape and neck volute.
Fingerboard: Rosewood with block inlays.
Pickups: Original Aria Pro II AL-7 or AL-5 humbuckers.
Bridge/Tailpiece: Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar tailpiece.
Hardware: Gold, including Grover-style tuners.
Weight: Generally high, ranging between 4.3kg and 4.6kg.
Binding: 7-ply body binding, split diamond headstock inlay.
These guitars are highly regarded for their build quality, representing the Matsumoku factory's "lawsuit" era high-end copies.

Many earlier Aria Pro II Les Pauls (1976–1978) lacked serial numbers, often featuring "open book" headstocks similar to Gibson.
