The Minolta X300 is surprisingly simple to use thanks to the no-fuss approach to the camera features and layout. The viewfinder is incredibly big and bright, and has a small circular microprism focussing aid which takes some getting used to, but does help to get your images perfectly in focus.

The in-viewfinder shutter speed LED display is invaluable and paired with the ergonomic placement of the shutter speed dial directly underneath the shutter release button, makes it very easy for you to change the shutter speed to the suggested speed on the LED without having to move your eye away from the viewfinder. This way, you don’t have to reframe and refocus your shot because you have the wrong shutter speed, all you have to do is just turn the dial until it is rectified.
