Features:

Overflow filters are very effective and clean pond water in three ways:

- biologically (nitrifying and denitrifying bacteria settle on the bioballs and sponge)

- mechanically (the fine-grained sponge retains mechanical impurities)

- sterilise (a 9W UV lamp additionally cleans the water of parasites, bacteria and algae, so-called green water)

Overflow filters additionally require a circulation or fountain pump for operation. The pump should be sufficiently powerful for the water flow to be optimal for 3-stage filtration. The 6000 and 12000 models have baffles in the filter and the water runs through them like a common aquarium sump. The 9000 model has no baffles. The filters have two water outlets, one is 'blinded' as standard.

The filter has a large filter chamber. It contains ready-to-use filter cartridges that take care of comprehensive water purification. Three types of sponge provide mechanical filtration. They are responsible for retaining all solid impurities, such as fragments of dead plants, fish excrement or uneaten food. They also provide an excellent habitat for beneficial nitrifying bacteria. This biological input removes harmful nitrogen compounds from the water, which are the cause of algae growth in the pond.

The efficiency of the unit is enhanced by the integrated 9 W UVC lamp. An indicator informs us of its operation. The water flowing through the steriliser is exposed to UV radiation, which is lethal to algae, dangerous microorganisms and pathogens. It gets rid of water blooms. Ultraviolet radiation only acts at the point of direct contact with the water. It therefore has no adverse effects on the fish in the pond or the beneficial bacteria living inside the filter. The use of the UV lamp also does not affect the parameters or the chemical composition of the water.

Despite its considerable capacity and size, the filter can be easily hidden in the garden design. The unit has been designed in such a way that its inlet and outlet are at a height that allows the unit to be partially buried in the ground.

A pump (not included) must be selected and connected to the filter to supply water to the unit. The filter has universal spigots with internal diameters of 20, 25, 32 and 40 mm.
