Salifert KH/Alkalinity Profi Test - KH and Alkalinity Test

Condition: New

Salifert KH/Alkalinity Profi Test is a precise test designed to measure alkalinity and carbonate hardness (KH) in marine aquariums.

Carbonates and bicarbonates make up a significant part of the water’s buffering capacity and help maintain stable pH levels. They are also important for the growth of corals and coralline algae.

The Salifert KH/Alkalinity Profi Test can detect even small changes in alkalinity, with a measurement resolution of 0.1 meq/L or 0.3 dKH. A clear colour change makes the result easy to read.

Key Features

* Measures alkalinity and carbonate hardness (KH)
* Measurement resolution of 0.1 meq/L or 0.3 dKH
* Clear colour change for easy result reading
* Detects small changes in alkalinity
* Approximately 100–200 tests per kit
* Suitable for marine and reef aquariums

Why is KH important?

Stable alkalinity helps maintain a consistent pH level in a marine aquarium. Carbonates and bicarbonates are also important for the growth of corals and coralline algae.

According to Salifert, natural seawater has an alkalinity of approximately 2.7 meq/L, which corresponds to around 7.5 dKH. The manufacturer recommends maintaining alkalinity close to natural seawater levels or slightly higher, while avoiding large fluctuations.
