1984 Boss CS-2 Compression Sustainer (Black Label)

I am finally deciding to part ways with this beautiful CS-2. I am selling this pedal as I have found that I personally only ever use compression when in a studio context and frankly just need the money :( This pedal was clearly well loved by it’s previous owner and has stunning mojo to it, just the way I like it! It of course, most importantly sounds amazing. I will absolutely miss having it around.

The CS-2 entered production in 1981 as the successor to the CS-1 model. This particular unit seems to be made in 1984 as the serial number 394900 suggests. The circuit replaced the previous photo-coupler processing with a voltage controlled amplifier which resulted in quicker attack times which are variable if you’re still looking for the slower attack sound. The CS-2 is a legendary effect pedal, famously used by David Gilmour and The Edge, it sits high up in clean tone royalty. Although not the most polished sounding compressor compared to more modern technology, the character of the sound is undeniable.
