PLEASE READ: WHICH CHIP IS IN THIS PEDAL
This FCB1010 has a EurekaPROM chip in it. It does NOT have the standard Behringer chip. Please read this before you buy, so you get the right pedal for your gear.
Inside every FCB1010 there is a small memory chip. That chip decides how the pedal works. There are three common versions:
1. Standard Behringer chip (the one it came with from the factory)
A general MIDI pedal. You set each button to send program changes or CC messages. Works with almost any MIDI gear: amps, multi-effects, synths, Ableton and so on. Setting it up on the pedal itself is slow and fiddly, but it works with everything.
2. UnO chip
A replacement chip made by another company. Still a general MIDI pedal that works with most MIDI gear. It adds a "stompbox" mode, where each button turns an effect on and off and the light shows if it is on. Easier to use live than the standard chip.
3. EurekaPROM chip (the one in THIS pedal)
A replacement chip made mainly for Fractal Audio gear, like the Axe-Fx. It has ready-made modes for turning effects on and off, changing presets and scenes, and controlling the looper on Fractal units. If you have a Fractal unit, this is a great match.
What this means for you:
- If you have Fractal Audio gear, this is ready to go.
- If you want a normal MIDI pedal for other gear (Line 6, Boss, Kemper, Ableton, a synth and so on), it may not do what you want as it is. You would need to swap the chip back to a standard Behringer chip or an UnO chip.
- The chip sits in a socket inside the pedal. Swapping it is an easy job with a screwdriver, but the new chip is not included. You would need to buy it yourself.
The price reflects this. Any questions, just message me.
