The DS-1 features Boss’s classic, indestructible metal enclosure and uses a straightforward three-knob layout:

Tone: Unlike standard tone controls that only cut highs, the DS-1's unique circuit acts as a wide-ranging EQ filter. Turning it counter-clockwise boosts lows and cuts highs; turning it clockwise cuts lows and boosts highs.

Level: Controls the overall master volume of the pedal. It has plenty of output to act as a boost.

Distortion: Adjusts the amount of gain, taking you from a mild, crunchy drive to a thick, searing distortion.
