You are bidding on a lot of 2 identical vintage Soviet-era metric fluteless forming taps (also known as roll or thread-rolling/forming taps). Made in the USSR from premium High-Speed Steel (HSS / Russian grade R6M5). True industrial New Old Stock (NOS) items from state reserve storage.
Unlike traditional cutting taps, these do not have flutes and do not produce chips. They form internal threads through plastic deformation (cold forming), creating stronger, more precise, and highly wear-resistant M6 threads. Ideal for CNC machining of aluminum, brass, copper, stainless steel, and ductile low-carbon steels.
