Original Soviet-made UP 160 Class 2 Precision Inspection Square in unused New Old Stock (NOS) condition.

Designed for accurate inspection and verification of 90° angles in machining, toolmaking, metalworking and quality control applications.

Manufactured from hardened precision-ground steel in accordance with Soviet GOST standards.

@Robbbie55: Yes, I’m serious. This is not a cheap workshop square. It is a precision engineer’s square, made in the Soviet Union to a high standard for accurate measurement and precision work. It is new old stock, unused and has been properly stored.

The price reflects the quality, accuracy, condition and rarity of the item. If you are looking for a basic square for general DIY work, there are certainly cheaper options available.

@Robbbie55: You’re absolutely entitled to your opinion, and after 30 years as a carpenter, I’m sure you know what you’re looking at. However, this is a precision engineer’s square, not a standard carpenter’s square, and the price reflects its specification, condition, rarity and provenance.

As for having no offers after four weeks — I’m in no rush to sell it. I’d rather wait for the right buyer who understands what it is and what it’s worth than sell it cheaply just to get it gone.

I'm sure it's much too good for the likes of me, a carpenter, machinist and cabinet maker for a long time and my fellow carpenters who can only aspire to cheap copies of this wonderous piece of advanced technology.

@Robbbie55: I think there is a misunderstanding here. This is not a carpenter’s square or a general woodworking tool. It is a precision engineer’s inspection square, designed primarily for metalworking, machining, engineering inspection and checking the accuracy of machined surfaces and components.

It is a completely different type of tool, made for a different purpose and to a different level of precision. So it really isn’t a question of being “too good” for a carpenter — it is simply a specialist engineering instrument intended for different work.
