Vintage Stanley no 4 Plane
Description
A Stanley Bailey Plane made in England in 1944. In very good condition the body is clean and flat, the adjusters work perfectly, the beechwood handles are original and in good shape. The blade is full length and I have sharpened and set it ready to use.FREE ebook " ABC of Woodwork" with this plane.
During World War 2 brass was reserved for munitions and Stanley replaced the brass adjuster knob with one made of hardened rubber ( see pictures). These were thought to be a temporary fix but they have lasted perfectly for over 80 years.
