Historically in counties Wexford, Waterford and Cork, furze (also known as gorse) was a highly valued, nutritious fodder crop for horses and cattle. Stamped with the blacksmiths/ makers initials PJ, its in very good condition, sharp and ready for work. The wooden handle is in good shape.
