Every individual swab is pre-wet with test solution ready to use on a tested item.

Testing method 1:
Rub tested item with cotton part of the swab for about 20 seconds. If swab or part of it turns pink that is a positive indication of nickel. This test is super sensitive and it detects even traces of nickel in a tested item. The pinker you see the more nickel tested item contains.

Testing method 2:
If the swab appears dry then use this method. Put a couple drops of white vinegar on the tested item. Leave react for 5 minutes. Then use swab and rub area of the tested item where your placed vinegar.

To use, cut right next to seal along the length of the swab. Use rubber gloves when handling swab and testing. Use outside or in a well-ventilated area as test solution contains traces of ammonia with its own distinct smell.

Test solution contains: Dimethylglyoxime- C4H8N2O2 <3%, ammonia- NH3 <1%, isopropanol – C3H8O >96%

This test is ready to use and can be used and produce result instantly.

If the packaging is opened and swab gets in contact with air it will get dry in minutes, therefore, open only as many swabs as you intend to use immediately. However, it is possible to use even dry swab where alcohol evaporated. Just add one drop of water on a swab and use it as intended. The package will contain a pack of 10 individually sealed test swabs and testing instruction card.

Test papers do have a small piece of fine nickel metal included. This is for you to practice how positive nickel test look like and then compare your observation with results from testing other items.

Nickel test papers are to be used with white vinegar method of testing as described previously. Every paper can be cut to 5-6 pieces and can be used for testing several items.
