Restoration & Upgrades
Full recap — all electrolytic capacitors replaced throughout
Main filter capacitors upgraded:
8 × 10,000 µF / 100 V high-quality capacitors
Power rectifiers upgraded for improved reliability
New high-quality speaker binding posts installed
Internals cleaned, inspected, and tested
Runs stable, quiet, and cool
This was a thorough restoration carried out with care — not a superficial service.
Performance
True dual-mono architecture (separate amplifier boards per channel)
High current capability — drives difficult speakers effortlessly
Excellent bass control and dynamics
Clean, detailed, neutral presentation
Suitable for both modern and vintage high-end systems
Condition
Fully functional following restoration
Very good cosmetic condition for its age (see photos)
Heavy, overbuilt construction typical of late-80s flagship gear
Note: There is a very slight channel level imbalance. This is minor in practice and easily corrected with a tiny adjustment of the preamp balance or Poweramp output level control to achieve a perfect centre image. No distortion, noise, or other faults to my ears.
Specifications (approx.)
200 W per channel into 8 Ω
Higher output into 4 Ω
Massive transformer and power supply
Weight: approx. 25 kg
