Stunning Monitor Audio MA201 vintage Hifi speakers, gold tweeters,

@davespudgun Simply superb speakers from Monitor Audio in Cambridge UK ? but a rare model that?s even harder to find info on! The use of MA?s unique gold anodised tweeter and the polypropylene woofer with integral waveguide would date them to about 1992.

They are very similar in design to the MA700 or later Studio 6 (which used the c-cam woofer rather than polypropylene, but shares the same tweeter etc.).

Obviously designed to be run on shelf or stands the design is bass reflex with front ports. The sound is fabulous, we could listen to these for hours.

The front grilles are removable (helps you show off the gold tweeters and gold Monitor Audio logo!), and the large binding posts at the rear can accept both bare wire and 4mm banana plugs. Woofer and tweeter connections can be separated for bi-amping if required.
They have an 8? impedance, and would be perfectly suited to amplifiers ranging from 15 watts per channel up to 150 watts per channel.

Based on all Monitor Audio product of similar configuration using these drivers frequency response would be 45Hz to 30kHz, and sensitivity would be 89db/1W/1m. Finish is Black Ash woodgrain.

Each speaker measures 270mm x 220mm and stands 400mm high.
