@deluna10: sorry, I don’t fully understand the comment “offer to pm”, does this mean that it’s a serious offer or that you would first like to get more information through pm?
I wanted to PM you to find out more about the bike and condition of the battery. Is the battery totally unusable? What year is the bike?
@deluna10: thanks for your questions! As stated in the ad, the bike itself is safe and okay, but the battery is dead.
@deluna10: we bought the bike in 2018. We used it less the last couple years as the kids got older and we got lazier and started to get groceries delivered instead of using the bike for large grocery runs. The cargo bike used to fit the contents of a full trolley with both our kids on the bench when they were in primary
Would it fit three children? I.e is there a front bench? I'm unsure from pics and the mention of a front step. Thanks, Emma
@emmaking88: the bike does not have a front bench as we only have two children. It can fit three or four children, but it only has the one bench installed so you would need to order the other.
What kind of motor and battery does it have...do you know how much a replacement battery is?
Is it difficult to cycle without the motor?
Is it difficult to cycle without the motor?
@Madiba: It’s a Swyff middrive add-on kit. As mentioned the battery is entirely dead and we don’t know if it can be repaired. Hence the low asking price.
That said, the bike is perfectly usable without electric assist. The only reason we had it added is because the cartilage in my knees is damaged, meaning I have the knees of an 80 year old which you can hear creaking from metres away. Also the add-on kit can be removed by a bike shop if it cannot be repaired. In that case they would need to replace the motor by a regular front gear. I estimate this would cost a few hundred euro.

@luluna0511: yes that would be possible. We live in Sallynoggin, when would it suit you to check it out?

The only reason we had it added is because the cartilage in my knees is damaged, meaning I have the knees of an 80 year old and the doctor’s advice is not to use force while cycling. My husband usually cycled with the bike without actually using the electric assist.
