@richiel: Hi, just had a quick research about this retrofit. OEM kit comes with an activation code that would allow the online SVM update on the car. There are several modules in the car that will get update and new dataset uploaded. Engine controller, radar of the adaptive cruise control, can-gatway, steering rack, infotainment (radio unit). If any of these units got modified, like the radio got Apple Carplay or any other function unlocked the non-official way, that will disappear from the system after the update. If the radio unit has been replaced, or any module of the car is not matching the original list, process will end with fault message and activation will be refused by the server. Easiest part of the job is to retrofit the switch panel with the Mode button and do the extra wiring, but coding can't be done offline with any diagnostic tool, so that seems to be a main dealer job. If my information is outdated and you found any offline solution in any forums, please let me know so I can check that and see if I have the right tools to do all the activation.
