Ali's Barber Shop

Ali Sayan was born in Ankara, Turkey 32 years ago, and first began as an apprentice in his father’s barber shop at the age of 9. Although some might think this is a little early to begin any kind of work, in Turkey it is a long time tradition for barbers to begin as children. Ali is a third generation barber, alongside his grandfather, father, uncle and his younger brother, who is the Turkish barber of Edenderry.
