Maintenance Operative (Laois)
Maintenance Operative required for Kilminchy Lodge Private Nursing Home, Kilminchy, Portlaoise, Co. Laois. Full-time position. JOB PURPOSE: To provide routine maintenance services to the Nursing Home under the direction of the Director of Nursing. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Undertake all routine maintenance tasks and minor general repair work as requested by the Director of Nursing. To check the maintenance request book for tasks to be completed. Set priorities with Managers. On a weekly basis undertake the fire alarm test and routine check of the fire doors security doors, and window restrictors. On a weekly basis undertake a routine check of Wheelchairs, Reclining Chairs and Nursing Beds. To take delegated responsibility for emergency lighting checks and fire alarm tests. On a monthly basis undertake delegated responsibilities for the visual check of the fire fighting apparatus e.g. Extinguishers and Hydrants. Checking of water temperatures of sinks, showers and baths. Monthly basis. Keeping accurate records and forwarding to the maintenance manager on a weekly basis. Cleaning shower heads and waste traps. Boiler Room: checking water hardness, check water temperatures within the boiler room. Keeping accurate records and forwarding to the Nursing Manager on a weekly basis. Fit shelves and picture hooks in residents rooms as requested. Assist staff with moving furniture as requested. Keep records of consumables and control of maintenance stock. Ensure a supply of matched paint and undertake running repairs of scuffed paintwork. Change light bulbs and clean shades as required. Ensure that the grounds, car park and gardens are maintained and are free from litter, and are kept clean & tidy at all times. Report to the Manager if a particular job falls outside the Training/Skill of the post holder. Liaising with trades and contractors working in the home. Ad-Hoc duties including accepting deliveries, local business errands and resident errands as needed. It is the responsibility of each employee to be responsible for Health and Safety of Residents, Visitors and Staff, and to report any hazards or potential hazards to the person in charge. Must be flexible to work across other homes within the Brindley Healthcare group, assist other maintenance personnel and cover holiday periods as and when required. Able to be called upon during out of normal working hours. Adhere to all Brindley Healthcare policies & procedures. Undertake any other duties or training consistent with the role. All employees must adhere to the dress code as described at induction. Personal Protective Equipment must also be worn as directed and in full compliance with Health and Safety Legislation where applicable. Physiotherapist (Mayo and Galway) (Mayo)
We are currently seeking to hire a Physiotherapist (ISCP membership essential). The role involves predominantly working with elderly residents in our private nursing homes in Ballyhaunis, County Mayo and Oughterard, County Galway. OVERVIEW OF ROLE:: Design and development of focused individual care plans and group exercise sessions to maintain and improve quality of life for the resident community. Setting outcome measures using research based functional and fitness assessments. Providing ongoing one to one physiotherapy sessions to residents based on completion of initial baseline assessments. Maintaining and updating individual resident records. Working hand in hand with the home medical team to integrate physiotherapy as an integral part of the care plans. Clients would include predominantly (but not exclusively) geriatrics with physical and mental pathologies (stroke, Alzheimers and related dementias) right through to able bodied and active ageing adults. Third Level Degree in Physiotherapy qualification required. Current membership of ISCP essential. Experience either working with or knowledge of a long term geriatric population would be greatly beneficial but not essential. Strong communication skills both verbal and written. This is an ideal position for a qualified graduate with a genuine interest in working with the ageing population. Will require access to own transport (locations to be covered include Ballyhaunis and Oughterard).

To interact with residents and colleagues in a positive and helpful way at all times. Part-time position. MUST HAVE a minimum of two years working experience in housekeeping in a work environment. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Housekeeping: 1. Prioritise workload on a daily basis. 2. Complete and sign off on the cleaning rota (as per daily, weekly, periodical tasks) as advised by the Nurse Manager in line with the Companys exceptional standards in hygiene and cleanliness 3. Ensure that the following are carried out at appropriate intervals in all areas of the Nursing Home and in line with the Cleaning Rota Thorough cleaning of all areas. Dusting, vacuuming and washing down of all areas. Cleaning of all safely accessible windows. Polishing of mirrors, brass plates on doors and furniture (as applicable). Dusting of all ledges, pictures, high areas and skirting boards. Shampooing of carpets. Cleaning of curtains, chairs and all furniture. Emptying / cleaning of waste bins Cleaning bathroom areas including moping shower and tiled areas Restocking of toiletries, soaps, towels etc.

Candidates MUST have Degree in Occupational Therapy AND current registration with AOTI. JOB PURPOSE: To facilitate the purposeful, occupational development and maintenance of residents with mental, emotional, and physical disabilities by assessing, planning and administering person centred care plans based on physical and psychological conditions in residents to maximize their levels of independence in everyday life. Occupational therapy is client-centered, concerned with promoting health and well-being through occupation. It involves enabling individuals and groups to do the things that they need and want to do in everyday life, and assists people to develop and maintain a meaningful lifestyle.
